Lifeline

Lifeline was a solo exhibition of over 45 original artworks, including quilts, paintings, banners, and small sculptures at Jonas Gallery in Colby, Kansas. The show culminated my onsite residency, in which I was commissioned to create a set of mural banners for Colby’s annual downtown ArtWalk.

My Lifeline Quilt Series (exhibited in 2022 in my gallery-wide solo exhibition, Lifeline, at Jonas Gallery in Colby Kansas) is an ongoing body of work yielding one monumental quilt per year of my life. I approach this body of work like I approach my daily journal practice: one entry at a time. Each entry is distinct, yet they all connect.  The Lifeline series allows me to play with a different time scale than my journaling practice; instead of one entry across a few pages within a journal, all the yearlong entries in a Lifeline Quilt exist within the same surface. The whole year becomes like a single page.
